Carnival A Night In Rio In Denver Wrap Up
See photos from Denver’s 2015 Carnival – A night in Rio at Mile High Station! A special one of a kind annual fundraiser benefiting Denver Kids, Inc.
Carnival – A Night In Rio is a one-of-a kind annual fundraiser. Proceeds are donated to Denver Kids Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping Denver Public Schools students who face the challenges of higher risk environments successfully complete high school, pursue post-secondary options, and become contributing members of the community. The event was for a great cause, and The Denver Kids Inc. Young Professionals Council put on an awesome event that did not disappoint.
The festivities of the evening were themed around the entire Carnival experience in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, a world famous festival held before Lent every year and considered the biggest carnival in the world. The atmosphere was a very festive one indeed, and bars throughout the venue were stocked with plenty of Yolo Rum to keep the party moving! With carnival inspired music pumping up the crowd, the party revelers made their way about the venue to take part in various activities including a silent auction and face painting stations throughout the event. Keeping the Carnival vibe alive were stiltwalkers, jugglers, and party attendees dressed to impress and topped off with boas, masks, necklaces, and other festive attire. The VIP crowd was treated to delicious food from Cranelli’s Italian Restaunt, a popular family owned Italian restaurant in Lone Tree.
As Mile High Station filled up, and Carnival reached a fevered pitch, it was time for the main event as we were treated by two superb performances by a pair of fire dancers from Lumina Entertainment, as well as a thoroughly entertaining act by the beautiful ladies of Bella Diva Dance. As the performers gave way to the general public, and the dance floor was again occupied by a crowd of random moving bodies, hula-hooping, and dancing about to the Brazilian style beats. Ultimately as the dance floor began to fill back up, and the music eventually drifted from samba, to “Turn Down for What”, but nobody was “turning down”, not tonight. And this one was for the kids! The ultimate party for a purpose. And that’s why we enjoyed every minute of it, because after all, You Only Live Once!
